Fifth Saturday Contra Dance -CHANGE OF VENUE

Fifth Saturday Contra Dance -CHANGE OF VENUE

CHANGE of LOCATION We are now hosting the Fifth Saturday Contra Dances at the Woman’s Club of South Pasadena

Dancing: 7:00pm – 11:00pm

Caller: Susan Kendig from Portland Oregon

Susie Kendig began calling in the SF Bay Area in 1996 as a favor to a friend and thought her calling career would last one (maybe two) evenings. Much to her surprise, she kept getting invited back. Now her clear concise teaching, commitment to fun, and cheerful aplomb keep dancers grinning and grooving.

Liam Lewis has been a prominent multi-instrumentalist in Los Angeles’s Folk music community for the last 15 years. He can be seen headlining Highland Scottish games all over the country on fiddle with multiple Celtic bands, or playing the main stages at Bluegrass festivals on mandolin with his Bluegrass band Hot October. With Stepwise, he has taught and performed at Fairbanks Arts Festival in Alaska for the last two summers.

Olivia Breidenthal is a fiddle player from Los Angeles, California. In California, she plays with Stepwise and other local Celtic and Americana bands performing at venues up and down the West Coast. She also played with the Broadway touring production of Oklahoma! at the Ahmanson Theater as well as the new musical Transparent at the Mark Taper Forum.
